My sincere condolences to the family. Pete was my first Battalion Chief in 1989. The epitome of leadership with confidence, humor, knowledge and courage under "fire". A role model to all and they both raised an outstanding firefighter in Dennis. RIP Chief!

Came on the department with Pete in 1968. Worked with him on many fires. Great guy, going to miss him.

Pete Hibbard was a man amongst men. A good person, calm and cool and collected, he was a true gentleman. Chief Hibbard was the epitome of firefighters: well respected, smart and admired by all. He will be missed!

It is with great sadness that a good soul like Pete's had to leave us so soon. What a great neighbor Pete was to us in the Hampton's, and we looked forward to seeing both Pete and Kathy each November. He loved our dog Lexi so much bringing her gifts for Christmas or for no apparent reason other than he simply loved dogs. If you pass the "rainbow bridge" Pete give Lexi a hug for us. You will be greatly missed and forever cherished in our hearts. To the family, please accept our condolences and know that Pete will be sadly missed in the Hampton's by many hearts that he touched along the way. Pete is unforgettable and we will remember his with good thoughts. Good-bye dear neighbor and continue touching hearts in your journey.

We lose another hero. What a great mentor and role model. And then a friend. I'm grateful for the influence he had on my career.

Our deepest sympathy to Kathy and family. We met Pete over the past few years while in Florida. You could always count on a "hello" and a friendly smile from Pete. He always had a special pat on the head for our dog Charlie. Always enjoyed listening to his stories about his time in the Fire Department. He was truly the definition of "a great guy". He will be missed.
