Survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Thomas; Children, Kristi (Brian) Mabelis, Mark (Christine), and Scott (Holly Kerr); Grandchildren, Christopher, Ava, Haley, Ryan, and Sean; Siblings, Carol (John) Howell, Hon. Frank (Karla) Geraci Jr., Nancy Geraci, and Paula (Patrick) Finucane; Aunt, Teresa Peartree.  Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Barbara grew up in the city of Rochester’s 19th ward on Kron St. She graduated from St. Agnes High School. Following high school, she started working at Central Trust bank in 1962, where she met Thomas years later. Barb volunteered to coordinate employee holiday parties, summer picnics, and several other events for the Rochester region for over 40 years. Barb was very dedicated to the bank, working in the Special Assets Loan Department starting in 1988. She loved her job and continued working at M&T Bank for 62 years, where she built many strong relationships with co-workers. As a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church, she was a member of several committees over the years.  She devoted many hours helping with school fundraisers while her children were students at St. Joseph’s, Mercy, and McQuaid.

Barbara loved hosting parties for family and friends, providing the most delicious meals which everyone still raves about. Sunday family dinners were a favorite tradition of hers. Often her children would bring friends to join the dinner and they called her their 2nd Mom. Barb loved to travel and take family vacations to places such as Florida, Aruba, Ocean City, University of Notre Dame, California, and many more.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother & grandmother. She loved her family more than anything. Barb built a strong foundation of core values, beliefs & tradition in all her family. Thomas loved Barb very much and shared many cherished memories over the years, with Aruba trip of 1975 being their favorite. Barb’s constant source of love, strength, inspiration, selflessness, and countless sacrifices have shaped her 3 children into who they are today. She was always at every dance, sporting event, and school function as they grew up.   Barb’s grandkids loved going to Nana & Papa’s house and getting spoiled. They always said she was the best online shopper.  She truly enjoyed watching all 5 grandchildren grow up before her eyes.  They all built a strong bond with her that will never be forgotten. They filled her heart with such love.
