Obituary of Roger Morris Smith

Roger M. Smith, 86 passed away peacefully at his home on March 8, 2024.  Born June 29, 1937, in Rochester, N.Y. to J. Sanford and Doris Sackett Smith. Roger was a 1955 graduate of Brighton High School, a proud 1957 graduate of Paul Smith’s College with a degree in Hotel Management followed by an associate degree from RIT in 1967.

He retired from Eastman Kodak as a Data Processing/Payroll Supervisor and spent his retirement on the golf course and pursuing his hobbies of modeling N Gauge trains, cheering on his Buffalo Bills, and playing Euchre with the gang.

Roger is predeceased by his parents, brother Peter V. Smith and sister Sandra J. Smith. He survived by his sister Jonatha S. Caimano (Roger), daughters Deborah Carrasquillo, Cheryl DiStefano (Rick), Jacqueline Canham (Chuck) and companion Beverly Anselmo who was also a loving caregiver in Roger’s last months, allowing him to remain in his home until his passing. He survived by grandchildren: Daniel, Marc (Erica), Shannon (Ben), Dylan, Lauren, Trevor, and great granddaughter Ellianna.

A celebration of Roger’s life will be held on Saturday, April 6. 2024 from 12-2 at The Legends of North Ponds, 830 Holt Road, Webster, NY. Interment held at  White Haven Memorial Park in Perinton, NY.
