One of the greatest fortunes of my life happened on December 7, 1964. That was the day I met John L.Curry, or as I always knew him as Johnny at the former Manhattan Restaurant.
Just recently discharged from active duty with the Marines I was about to start a 31 year working relationship with my dear 'Brother'. Johnny was learning the Baking Trade so we were both at the beginning of of what to be a long personal relationship. He also became a 'Master Cook' as time went on.
A most honest, carrying, hard working man with a heart as big as the world. Johnny learned very fast and soon he was excellent in his position. Johnny was always there when help was needed. He didn't know the word 'no'. I depended on Johnny to be my 'right hand man'. Tough times were never a problem for him. Johnny always went above and beyond to make everything as perfect as possible. A religious man, Johnny was always kind and understanding, never a complaint.
Johnny was my only true confidant, my 'go to' guy during rough times.
He had a dry sense of humor which made me laugh so many times. His natural intelligence on so many subjects helped me to understand some complex subjects with clear and unbiased thinking.
I will miss my 'brother' Johnny so very much.
He has been welcomed into Gods' arms as one of the most unique and caring persons.
We will meet again in the future. May God bless you.

A kind gentle being with a heart of gold. I will miss our Saturday adventures; going to Wegman's on East Ave, breakfast at the Golden Fox or Jim's on the mall. I will miss the stories you shared with me. I will miss your presence and your smile. Love always, your niece Veronica Wilson (aka Ronni).
