Diane and I extend our condolences and prayers of healing to Vinnie's family. I am profoundly saddened and share your loss. Our 55+ year friendship went well beyond those years of haircuts. Vinnie took great care of both me and my father. He took an incredible interest in our families, well being and activities. He built one of his many homes for my father, who drove him nuts in the process. I don't know of any builder that would have had the patience to get that one done. Vinnie and I covered a world of topics as we got together: family, travel, golf, classic cars, politics, homebuilders issues, engineering, health and retirement. He took a genuine interest in all. The time in the chair was all too short and I always left with a great haircut. Of course, I would pay for a haircut and he would end up getting a lot of free engineering advice on some challenges he was having with one of his builds. Sometimes I would have a set of house plans in my lap while getting a haircut. I am so grateful that we came into each others lives and I will always cherish these years of memories.

To Vinnie's Entire Family: Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. What a great man he was.
It was back in 1998, I was working on a Saturday morning at Kodak Park, when I declared I needed a haircut and just couldn't find a good barber. One of the contractors with whom I was working told me I had to go and see Vinnie! He told me he was an interesting guy; he even builds houses! It was right up the street; I couldn't pass up that recommendation.
On that day, I not only had a connection to a GOAT Barber, but developed a great friendship as so many others here have posted on this page. It was not long after, my son and eventually my father became regular customers. Years later, on the day of his wedding, my son drove in from his home in Buffalo, for the sole purpose of getting a haircut because there was no way he was going to get married without a haircut from Vinnie. A few weeks later when I came in, Vinnie told me my son had him crying when he learned he drove in from Buffalo just to see him for a haircut. I also recall his surprised reaction a few years later, when I called to jokingly complain about the recommendation he made to me for a restaurant in Rome, Italy; It was closed in the month of August and I had to call him right on the spot and let him know that! He couldn't believe I was calling from Italy!
Vinnie and I shared many common interests and priorities, especially when it came to family. What a great family guy; he was so proud of his family and he often shared stories of the joy his family brought to him.
Vinnie: Rest in peace my Friend. You are "one of a kind" and will not be forgotten.

Vinny was a one of a kind that will be so missed by so many people whose lives he had touched. I was first introduced to Vinny when I was 15 years old and also had the good fortune to introduce my own son and wife to him many years later. There were so many varied conversations with Vinny mostly centered on our families. Family was always central to Vinny. I will miss him greatly. He was a good and gracious human being. Ray Ozuna

A good man is a good man!
Vinnie was a great human being, a HOF barber, a devoted husband, a proud dad and grandfather, an accomplished builder and a hard working, loyal friend. He cut my hair for over 50 years (4 different shops) and we shared so many stories of our families, our trips, sports, our building projects, politics, and so much more. There will never be another Vinnie! The GOAT of barbers! Rest in peace "old lefty". God bless you and your family!

For many of us, Vinnie was a good friend since the 60s and 70s, when we were all young guys. It started with haircuts, but it is a great testament that so many of us stayed with him for 50 years or more. Visits with Vinnie were educational, humorous, interesting, and sometimes philisophical. He might tell a funny story; or we would discuss how to solve the world's problems. He had an amazing memory for details about our lives and families. When I was ill, he offered to come to my home to help me look presentable. Thanks, Vinnie. We were glad to know you.

It is sad to think about Vinnie moving on ... but he must be in a better place,... it didn't take 58 years of haircuts for me to realize that Vinnie was not a barber, but rather a sculptor - he cut hair like Michelangelo hammered rock ... the result was always a work of art!! Definitely a smart man, he mastered 'long hair' way before his colleagues and developed a full book of customers ... and it didn't take 58 years to know Vinnie was a friend to all of them. We all will miss you Vinnie. Condolences to your loving family as you move on ...

Vinnie was a great guy and a good friend. I'll miss the talks with him during my haircuts for the past 48 years. There was more talking and less cutting as time marched on. At the end of my last cut a couple months ago he held the mirror up for me and I said " You're an artist Vinnie" I'll always remember the big smile and pat on the back he gave me as I left. He was so very proud of his family. He'll be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. God bless yo Vinnie.
