Obituary of Catherine A Stivers

Catherine Stivers (Scalzo), 63, born in Easton, PA and resided in Webster, NY passed away peacefully on February 14, 2023.  She is predeceased by her parents, Dominic and Dolores Scalzo.  She is survived by her children, Shelby (Evan Urquhart) Stivers and John (Jennifer) Stivers and newborn grandson Christian John; her brothers, Thomas (Laurie) Scalzo and John (Teresa) Scalzo; her beloved partner Terrence Thomas; nephews,Ryan (Amanda) Scalzo, Stephen (Melania) Scalzo; Dominic (Mica) Scalzo, great-nephew Benicio Scalzo; Nicholas (Kristina Koester) Scalzo, great- niece Savannah Scalzo and many extended family members.

Catherine was a teacher at Iroquois Middle School for 29 years.  During that time, she received honors as Teacher of the Year. She dedicated most of her life to her students to ensure they had an exceptional education. She loved her cats, Tuey, Dimmey, Rocky, and Sylvester. In her spare time, she loved crafting, going on walks, watching movies, and spending time with her children. 

Catherine fought a courageous battle against early-onset Alzheimer’s for many years. She was lovingly cared for by her partner, family, and support care till she was placed in St. John’s Nursing Home.

Calling hours on Monday, February 20, from 4pm – 7pm at Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Fpt. Nine Mile Pt. Rd. Webster. N.Y. On Tuesday, February 21, please join the family at 10am at St. Paul’s Church 783 Hard Road Webster, N.Y. 14580 for the celebration of her Funeral Mass. Interment private
