We the Cortese family (cousins) will miss all the memories of growing up together and the holiday sleep overs with our aunts and cousins at our house and I will miss seeing him all my times in court and at Auquinas games at the ticket taker booth with him talking and joking with parents, staff members and kids and then of course at Red Wing stadium and War Memorial. He will truly be missed by all. Love cuz

It is with sadness that we read of Leo's passing. He and I were co-workers and became friends while working in Kodak's Plastic and Metal Products Division in the 60's. The four of us spent many happy days together playing euchre and enjoying each others' company during the early days of our marriages. Leo and his family will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers.

Josie, Shari,Kim and Joe. And Leo’s many friends, relatives and former and present coworkers.
I loved Leo. We were Partners at the Monroe County Sheriff’’s Department working in Criminal Court with the Honorable John J. Connell. Leo and I were partners for 18 years and great friends for years after we both retired. Leo, Gary , Gene and I started playing golf together on Saturday mornings at the Webster golf course, west course for many years.while we all were still working. It forged a great longtime friendship. Leo,sponsored me to become a member of Local B-90 Ticket Takers and Ushers as a part time job. I worked there many years thanks to Leo. Also worked other venues with Leo.
Leo had the heart of gold, he loved his family first and foremost, his jobs which were many and the people he met and many he became friends with. Leo was especially great with the defendants while working in court. Many times Judges would say to me you two were the best Court Deputies working in Criminal Court. We wish you were still there. But Leo and I both were happy we were retired. I’ll miss you my friend and will continue to pray for you and your family . I’m having a couple of masses said in Leo’s name at St.Ambrose Church.
With my deepest sympathies and love to Josie & family. RAY BATTAGLIA

Josie and Family - my deepest sympathy for all of you. I don't have to tell you what a great guy Leo was - he touched the hearts of everyone he knew - and he knew everyone! Working with him at the Sheriff's Dept was nothing less than a barrel of laughs and yet he knew when not to joke around. Whether at the War Memorial or the Ball Park or at the Aquinas events, Leo always went out of his way to say hello with a hug and kiss - the old Italian way of saying hello. He was my friend and I will miss him.
To Leo: . You were my friend, my comrade through thick and thin and everything in between. I will have a drink to your memory. I love you buddy - I always will. You are forever in my memory. May God Bless...
