Obituary of Laura Eleanor Autovino

Aurora "Laura" Autovino (Piccione)

Rochester: Born February 4, 1921 passed peacefully on June 30, 2022 at the age of 101. Laura is predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Biagio (Blaze) Autovino; her son-in-law, Salvatore “Sal” Bonagura; son-in-law Gerald “G” Bianchi; granddaughter Tometa (Twilliger) Curran.

Beloved mother, Laura is survived by daughter, Josephine (John) DiGregorio; daughter, Marie Bianchi; son Mathew (Joni) Autovino; daughter Laura Autovino (Jeffrey Fink) and daughter, Eleanor “Ellie” Bonagura. 

Laura was the cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild arriving, August 2022. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed being with them.

Laura had a long career of more than 30 years at Wegman’s and as a manager. She loved her job and enjoyed the many people she met along the way. Laura was very creative and spent much of her life, quilting, knitting, crocheting and crafting. She also was a wonderful cook and an amazing baker. She had a generous heart and donated many handmade items throughout her lifetime, to the poor and infirmed. A lifelong lover of baseball, Laura was an avid New York Yankees fan since she was a young girl. She watched the games until the very end of her life. Laura was a very active volunteer for the Rochester Deaf Community and the deaf community in Pinellas County, Florida. She made many friends for life there.

CALLING HOURS ARE SUNDAY, AUGUST 7 from 2-6 PM at FALVO’S FUNERAL HOME 1295 Nine Mile Point Road, Webster, NY. On Monday, August 8 at 11:00 a.m., FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO GO DIRECTLY TO ST. JOSEPH’S CHURCH 43 Gebhardt Road, Penfield, NY for a CELEBRATION of LAURA’S FUNERAL MASS.

The family of Laura would like to express their thanks and appreciation for the care she received at Heathwood Assisted Living Center in Penfield, NY. There were so many wonderful caregivers and staff there. 
A very special thanks to Laura’s, at home nurse, Kathy M., for her love and care.
