There are people that can change your whole life with a smile. People who can enter a room and slowly but surely make everyone feel listened, heard and loved. Ian was that person, in every moment that he lived his life. He was a young man of great faith and love for Christ, with an unmatched appreciation for living. A dear friend of Ian shared his impact on the world in a simple, but profound way. Ian wasn’t a priest, but through his love for God and his adoration for humanity, he treated the world as his parish— changing and transforming the lives of everyone he met, and teaching many how to show love and kindness through his example. And his father, Jack Schaefer, describes him best: “Ian is love.”
