My memories of Clive go back over 55 years. We met as teenagers when our social paths crossed even though we went to rival local schools. It developed through our university years and into our early business life. Life was simple then, even our cars which were a Standard 8 and a Ford Anglia. Life was very much a social affair and we had a simple mantra “Groping comes first”. But if that failed we always carried a pack of cards, a crib board and often (too often) could be found together in a quiet corner to sounds of “15 for 2, a pair's 4 and 1 for his nob is 5”. In the summer we would play tennis and in the winter go indoors and play squash. As our careers developed and we both married we became separated by counties. After a few years the counties became countries. We stayed in touch and, with thanks to Alexander Graham Bell and the telephone, we had some interesting discussions. I shall miss you Clive. God bless. Tony xx

I shared a house with Clive in Bath whilst at the university. He was into cricket even then and one morning I came down to the kitchen/lounge to find Clive and the rest of the university cricket team sleeping there! They covered every chair and floor space. I cooked and ate breakfast and went out. They were still asleep. There were many empty bottles lying around as well. Happy days.

I was privileged to work with Clive for a number of years at Xerox. Clive had a great following since he was well known and greatly respected as a" go to person" for help with solving problems. His advice was always astute and measured, and most importantly he tended to provide an eminently workable solution to whatever the problem. I learned a great deal from Clive over the years and often sought his views on a range of issues, regardless of whether those were within the scope of his direct responsibilities. Clive was a consummate gentleman: professional, calm and always willing to lend a helping hand. He possessed an excellent insight to the often complicated workings of corporate life and his assessment of what was really going on was almost always spot on. He lived by the famous British World War II exhortation which he posted on his office wall: "Keep Calm and Carry On!"
Clive was one of those memorable, engaging personalities that Xerox was blessed with during its heyday and who were responsible for its success. I shall miss my friend, Clive, but am grateful for his wise advice and counsel. He made us all better.

My memories of Clive begin in 1957 when we attended the same primary school in Worcester UK followed by the same grammar school and University. We then continued to keep in touch when he moved to USA - 65 years in all. He was a jolly, fun loving person who could be a bit of a lad sometimes. He loved cricket and I remember playing for the Bath University first team under his captaincy. Due to the lack of cricket in USA and, thanks to modern technology, he was able to continue to follow his local UK cricket team, namely Worcestershire, as well as the England team. I will always remember our recent discussions with regard to the state of English cricket, especially the poor form of the England test team. The last time we saw Clive was with Sarah on a Zoom call in January, while the last time he managed a trip to Worcester UK was in 2004. It was great to see him after so many years.
It was very sad to hear of his declining health and subsequent passing. Our thoughts are with Sarah and the family at this difficult time.
God Bless Trevor and Janet.

Sarah and family, Sending love, prayers and hugs to all of you at this time. Clive was such a kind, caring and genuine man. I so enjoyed the time I worked as his administrative assistant in B105. We worked hard, but always managed to have a good time doing so. He told me on one of my long service anniversary celebrations that the work/life/family balance worked because I made it work and Clive did the same every single day. Wherever I saw him out and about, he always took the time to say hello and offer a hug. Cherish your many wonderful memories and keep them in your heart forever and always. Dawn & Ken

Mike, I, and our children, are so sad to hear of Clive’s passing. The phrase “Clive was a good guy” is such a major understatement. He has indeed left us all better people for having known him. I would always smile as Clive’s joyous Christmas letter would kick off our holiday season. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.DyAR7

Couldn’t ask for a friendlier, kinder boss than Clive. Was his admin for many years - best years in Bldg 212 where we were all not only coworkers but best of friends. Clive held us all together. Thank you Clive for many good memories. Joanne Carr
