I worked with Don at Empire Graphics. Don had a contagious smile that would light up a room! He was a true gentleman and got along with everyone he worked with. He was an overall great guy!

It was my great fortune to photograph Don at various events over the past number of years ... and the memories of our pre/post-parade chats will remain in my heart always.

A man who made a difference and brought a smile to everyone's face. We knew him from the Bayview YMCA, and loved his light touch on life and his playful attitude. So many of us Y members will miss this beautiful man. Thinking of Don still makes me smile! Rest well, you deserve it, my friend.

So sorry to hear that Don has left us for heaven.
I loved playing Euchre with him at the Bayview YMCA....and especially being his partner. He would say, "Pick that sucker up" when he wanted to name trump. The Euchre tables will never be the same.
What a guy and what a hero!
I will truely miss him,
Bob Ehmann

I always loved seeing Don at the Bayview YMCA, playing cards in the lobby and exercising later in the Wellness Center. His smile lit up my day and he often had a joke or story to share. Don, I miss you - the Y won’t’ be the same without you, but I will always think of you when I am there - and at St. Paul’s Saturday afternoon Mass. You have made getting older a positive experience by your example.

Every time we saw each other, his face would light up and he would have that big loving smile on his face. He always would have something to share to brighten my day. I can imagine him now, sharing a funny story with the angels.

Don, you will be missed by everyone in our little neighborhood. What laughs and story telling times we had during “cocktail” hour, we will miss that terribly. Your smile and perseverance touched us in ways you will never know. May your family and friends find peace, smiles, laughter and love in their memories of you, I know we will. May God Bless You and may you find peace in your Rosies arms again.
Love, Colleen & Dan Gray ❤️❤️

Don was the unofficial Mayor of the Bayview YMCA for so many years! His charisma, warm & generous personality will be missed by so many as he was such a friend to all and ALL ways there to ask how you were or what’s new with you. May his family know how much he touched the lives of so many and how he called everyone a friend. May his many memories live on in all whose lives he so deeply touched.Prayers and love to his family and all who hold him close.
