Obituary of John J. Campana
John Joseph Campana, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 26, 2017 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He succumbed to complications from a heart procedure.
He is survived by, the love of his life of 20 years, Patricia Frasca. Children Jennine (Dennis) Whitmore, John (Josette) Campana, Joseph (Ellice) Campana and Melissa (Damond) Frasca. Three Grandchildren, whom he adored, Damian, Vincent and Victoria. His brother Anthony (Antoinette) Campana and nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was born on July 8, 1948 in Troy, NY, a son of the late Anthony Campana and Mary Lomaestro. He graduated from Troy High School ('66). He then went on to graduate from the State University of New York College at Brockport ('71), with a BS in Biology. Following his graduation he moved to Rochester where he worked as a Senior Public Health Sanitarian at the Monroe County Health Department for 35 years. He also worked as an Usher at the Blue Cross Arena, and as a member of the Grounds Crew at the Country Club of Rochester. He also ran his own business, Parking Associates Plus. After retirement from the County, he also continued teaching food safety with Patricia in their company Food Safety Associates.
Above all else, John loved spending time with Patricia and his family. He loved cooking out on the grill and having his family over for meals. He was devoted to going to all his Grandchildren's events. He had a love of cars and was working on restoring his 1968 Triumph. His interests included hockey, golf and finding good deals off the internet.
