John and I were classmates and friends in Troy High School. I always remember his smile and good nature. It seemed as though he always had a happy attitude toward everything. I am the administrator for our high school web site and was so happy when I found John's phone number and got to talk to him a few years ago. I will post his obituary on our site. On behalf of all of his classmates, we extend our sincere condolences to his family. May he rest in peace

John was a good neighbor and friend. We enjoyed his humor and kindness he showed us and our son. We saw the love and concern he had for his family which we found especially nice. Even though we haven't seen him recently we considered him a good friend. We will miss him and pray that he finds his place in heaven and says hi to our son, Stephen. Love to you Patrica, Dave and LaVerne

John was one of the nicest guys I met when I first moved to Rochester 20 years ago. He always tried to help me out and make sure I was fitting in with my new residence. I was shocked to hear the news of his passing. I'm sure John is in heaven right now smoking a big cigar and getting ready to tee off on hole number one - just like we did together at CCR. Prayers to the entire family. He will definitely be missed. RIP.

John was one of the most personable and accommodating persons I ever encountered. I was associated with him in a number of ways as City Deputy Commissioner of Parks and Recreation, Board member of the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee and Operations Mgr of the Rochester Sesquicentennial Tall Ships Festival. John never compromised his commitment to protecting the health and safety of the public, but at the same time he was always willing to work with event organizers to come up with solutions to problems that arose. John's smiling face and friendly demeanor will be greatly missed and I extend my condolences to his family.

My good friend and hockey buddy John. How I see you settling your team down and getting us to play nice (but hard). Your gentle way was an influence on me and others and I will miss the thought of running into you at Wegmans or some other place and sharing great moments in our lives. Thank you John for your gifts.
