It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Joseph Bonafede. He departed this world on December 18, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 3, 1956, in Rochester, NY, he was a 1974 graduate of Eastridge High School and went on to study Business Administration at RIT. He had a long and successful career as a Supply Chain/Materials Director in the manufacturing industry where he was afforded the opportunity to travel the world!

Joe is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Phyllis Bonafede and sister, Paula Fraccassi.  He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Elizabeth (Polvino) Bonafede; Daughter, Deanna (Corey) Kehrer and their children, Kevin, Mia, Sophia, Colby, and Crew; Son, Charles (Nicole) Bonafede and their children, Reese and Lila; Daughter, Briana Bonafede.  His loving sisters, Carla (Ron) Terhaar and Jodi (Donna) Leidner and Brother-In-Law, Dominic Fraccassi.  As well as many nieces and other beloved family.

Joe and Elizabeth built a life steeped in love, commitment, and shared dreams. He was a devoted father, and grandfather and leaves behind a legacy of love and guidance. One of Joe’s greatest joys was gathering with family and sharing a great meal!

Joe brought immeasurable joy and warmth to the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a man of unwavering integrity, a loving presence, and a pillar of strength for his family.

May Joe's soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire and bring solace to those who loved him.

A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Saturday, December 30th at Sacred Heart Cathedral (296 Flower City Park, Rochester, NY 14615) at 9:30 AM.

Friends and family are invited to join together to remember and honor the remarkable life he led.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
