Obituary of Lawrence O'Toole
O'Toole, Lawrence E.
Rochester: 86, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2014. Born in Oswego, NY on September 21, 1927, Larry was the son of Mathias and Anna Mae O'Toole. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves in the early 1950s and retired from Kodak after a 35-year career.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane, son Timothy and daughter Susan.
Larry lived in the Oswego area for 21 years with Mary Jane after retirement, before returning to Rochester in 2010. He served as a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America and Meals on Wheels and the H. Lee White Marine Museum of Oswego.
For many years, he was a communicant at Blessed Sacrament Church. Easy-going and cheerful, Larry quickly made friends wherever he went.
He is survived by six children: Michael (Susan); Eileen (Bob) Drost; Patrick (Patricia); Matthew (Michelle), Daniel (Carol) and Mary (Todd) Keenan, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Eileen, of Annapolis, MD. Several nieces and nephews.
Larry's family would like to extend a heartfelt 'thank you' to the staff of Heathwood Assisted Living for taking such good care of our father and mother, and to the seventh floor medical staff at Highland Hospital who provided peace and comfort for our family during the last days of his life.
Calling, Thursday, 3-7 PM at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Rd. Webster (Rte. 250).
His funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in the funeral home.
Interment, Holy Sepulchre.
