Obituary of Angelo Brigandi
Brigandi, Angelo R. Dr.
Irondequoit:
August 10, 2014, age 79.
Predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Marjorie Brigandi. Survived by his daughter, Kathy (Wayne) Freeman of Syracuse, NY; grandchildren, Lydia and Matthew Freeman; several nieces and nephews.
As a young child, Dr. Brigandi was inspired to become a physician. He graduated from Upstate Medical University in 1960. On May 5, 1962 he married Rochester native Marjorie (nee Connor), whom he met in Syracuse, where she was working as a Nurse. After completion of his residency at Rochester General Hospital, he entered the Air Force. These years were the source of many fond memories as the young family traveled extensively. Dr. Brigandi was honorably discharged in July 1966 as Chief of Internal Medicine at Amarillo Air Force Base. He returned to Rochester where he practiced medicine, a vocation which would fulfill and define him for over 50 years, often caring for several generations of a family. Dr. Brigandi was devoted to his family, taking particular delight in watching his grandchildren grow. Lydia and Matthew enjoyed the weekly visits from Papa. He loved good food and a glass of wine, was a voracious reader and an avid sports fan, especially Syracuse University Basketball. His old-school demeanor, encyclopedic knowledge, sense of humor and love will be greatly missed.
