Kubber, Derek J., aka "Beaker"
Webster: Suddenly, unexpectedly at home sometime during the night of May 5-6. Beloved by friends & family, "Beak" graduated from Webster HS, completed his Biology course at MCC and was to begin BSN studies this fall. Most recently he worked as a CNA privately, and at Univ. of Roch. He began his career as a Bat Boy for the Rochester Red Wings winning a Governor's Cup ring in 1990. To know Derek, was to know "The Voice" He worked in Broadcasting with "Uncle Rog" until his untimely death. Derek was an amateur chef, but usually only made a huge platter for himself. It's amazing he was able to stay so fit & trim. Being a talented athlete helped. Derek also helped the Webster Track team to victories in the 400m and 4 X 400m. He trained & played baseball with many of his Major League buddies on the Baltimore Orioles and even had a season of scratch golf. He's leaving his friends & family with a huge hole.
Derek is predeceased by his beloved grandparents Verna & Harry Newkirk; Survived by his parents Steve & Debbie, uncles Gary Kubber & Gary Newkirk, aunt Sherry McInerney, cousins Taylor, Erin & Christopher, grandparents Al & Dolores Kubber and finally, 6 Chesapeake Bay Retrievers.
Calling hours Friday (TODAY) 2-4, 7-9 and Saturday 9AM-10:30AM at Falvo Funeral Home, Webster, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Rd. (Route 250).
Graveside Services will be held Saturday 11AM in White Haven Memorial Park.
