Obituary of Mary H. Bryant
In Loving Memory of
Mary (Hayes) Bryant
1934 - 2025
If Mary (a.k.a. Nana) were writing her own story, it would be filled with love on every page and end with a message that left you feeling cherished. She spent 90 beautiful years weaving her life into the hearts of all who knew her, while perfecting the art of making others feel seen, valued, and loved. From her earliest days, surrounded by a family who treasured her, to a lifetime of building deep connections and nurturing her own bustling family, Mary’s story is one of joy, resilience, and endless love.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents (C. Emmett and Marjorie Hayes), her sister Joan (George) Stanton, her brother Bob (Gail) Hayes, and her childhood sweetheart and adoring husband of 56 years, George, all of whom were undoubtedly waiting to welcome her with open arms. She is survived by her immediate family, her baby brother Jim (Marilyn) Hayes, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will carry forward her legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering kindness.
Mary’s life was a kaleidoscope of simple joys and cherished traditions. She created a home where her five children, seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren always felt welcome—spoiled by her famous grilled cheese sandwiches, M&Ms from her magical kitchen dispenser, and the world’s best ribbon Jell-O. Every visit to Nana’s house was a reminder of her deep love, shared through tender hugs, heartfelt conversations, and a quiet strength that could heal any worry. Her love extended far beyond her family and friends, touching everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her presence was a comfort, her dedication unwavering, and her kindness a true example to us all.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on January 22, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Church of the Holy Spirit, 1355 Hatch Rd, Webster, NY 14580. Inurnment will occur at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to honor Mary by embracing those around you with the same love and care she gave so freely. Donations can be made in her memory to the National MS Society or the Cancer Society of America.
Rest easy, Nana. You were truly one of a kind, and your love will forever light our way,
With love, from your Children: Michael (Patti), Kate, Linda (Gary), Bridget, and George; your Grandchildren: Audrey (Mike), Kaitlin (Dan), James, Andrew, Amilyn, Michael Patrick, and Meg; and your Great-Grandchildren: Harper, Charlotte, Connor, Jackson, Christian, Danny, Liliana, Skylar, Addison, Emilia, and Wesley.
