Obituary of Carol Ann Ferguson

Carol Ann Ferguson

12/06/1941 - 01/11/2025

Went home to be with the Lord our God and loved ones on January 11, 2025 at 83 years of age.

Predeceased by her son Ray Gordon, parents Gabriel and Rose Sorrentino, and Sister-in-law Judy Short.

Survived by her loving companion of near 40 years, Don Sawyer, daughter Debra (Scott) Drexler, grandchildren Scott (Jessenia) Ferguson, Amanda (Adrian) Colvin, and Brandon Drexler, and great grandchild Rayna Rose Ferguson; brothers Richard and Daniel (Sue) Sorrentino; nephews Eric (Emily) and Nathan Sorrentino; grandnephew and grandniece Michael and Giuliana Sorrentino; many cousins; and loved ones Lou (Rob) Taylor and Buzz (Reneé) Sawyer and family.

Born December 6, 1941, the day before the attack on Pearl Harbor, Carol graduated from Jefferson High School and SUNY Brockport. She taught mathematics at Irondequoit High School, and, after her children were school-age, Carol was a dedicated systems analyst for Chase Bank. She especially enjoyed perfecting her “Sunday Sauce”, was a collector of cobalt blue glass, loved Chanel No. 5 perfume, and saved items that she could eventually give to someone who would cherish. She had a thirst for knowledge, was abundantly intelligent, generous, independent, and compassionate. She lived in her home in Ontario, NY for over 55 years. She was beautiful, had a tender-heart, loving smile and laugh, and above all, always put others before herself. In 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 it says “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”

Her family requests in memory of Carol, if you would like to donate any item, give it to someone you know who will truly appreciate it. This will warm each of your hearts. You may also consider donating in her memory to the Open Door Christian Rescue Mission, as there is no cost to recipients (which she truly valued) and also offers hope. You may also consider donating to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, or the American Legion.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 18, from 12-2pm with her Memorial Service at 2pm BOTH at Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Fpt. Nine Mile Pt. Rd. Webster, N.Y. 14580. Private burial at White Haven Cemetery, 210 Marsh Rd, Pittsford, NY 14534.
