Obituary of Nicolina Carlisi
Nicolina (Nicky) Carlisi, 93 passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, after a life full of blessings.
She was born on October 30, 1931, in Rochester, NY to Salvatore and Jennie Carlisi. The oldest of two children, she graduated from East High School, Rochester NY in 1949 and was a lifelong resident of Rochester/Penfield NY.
Nicky was a parishioner at St. Thomas More Church for 43 years where she was an active and loyal member. She enjoyed singing in the choir and planning and organizing the Church’s annual pasta dinner. Additionally, Nicky was a member and officer of many organizations and clubs and was extremely generous with her time and her talents. She held a long retail career at Sibley’s Department Store starting as a salesclerk, becoming a buyer, department manager and lastly moving into a role as operations manager.
Nicky will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched. She loved spending time with family, volunteering, making crafts, cooking and baking. Her zucchini bread, fig cookies and Italian S cookies have been enjoyed by many generations. She will be remembered as a caring and generous person to all who knew her.
She is survived by her brother, Anthony J. Carlisi of The Villages, FL (Rita – deceased); nephews, Anthony Carlisi (Michelle) and Brian Carlisi (Shawn); niece, Shannon McKenna (John); four great nieces, McKenzie, Melissa, Kelly, Meghan and three great nephews AJ, Michael, Matthew. She is also survived by many devoted cousins and loving friends.
A memorial service will be held in Rochester, NY at a later date. Contributions in memory of Nicky Carlisi may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
