Obituary of Rose Marie Calcagno

Rose Marie Calcagno 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rose Marie Calcagno, a devoted mother, loving wife and grandmother, who left us on December 16th at the age of 90. 

Born on July 4, 1934 in Rochester, NY, Rose Marie was a beacon of love and strength in the lives of her family. She is survived by her beloved spouse, Joseph Calcagno, and her seven children: Karen (Tim Mechler), Janice (Wes Plant), Joey (Lynn) Calcagno, John (Laurie) Calcagno, Mary Joy Calcagno, Patrice Calcagno (Marcal Kowalski-Smith) and Adam (Joell) Calcagno.  Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support have left an indelible mark on their lives.

Rose Marie was also a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren: Tim, Gary, Roland, Jeremiah, Brent, Sarah, Jonathan, Ashley, Ryan, Colton, Sydney, Samantha, Gabriel and Michaela , and a great-grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren: Chris, Brandon, Cadence, Ashlyn, Dylan, Gianna, Lorenza, Kober, Dean, Tanner, Baylee, Skylar and Zakai. Her legacy of love will continue to shine through them.

Throughout her life, Rose Marie was extremely artistic.  She enjoyed stained glass, needle point, knitting, quilling,  painting and interior decorating.  She also enjoyed music, reading a good book, playing the ukulele and singing.  She dedicated herself to her family and to her faith, always putting others before herself.

Friends and family are invited to join us in honoring her memory.  Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 19th from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at Falvo Funeral home located at 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Road (Rt 250) in Webster.  There will be a Funeral Mass on Friday, December 20th at 11am at Holy Spirit Church located at 1355 Hatch Rd, Webster.   

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Rochester & Finger Lakes Region in her name.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
