Oh I thought Schery was one of the the nicest, prettiest and most down-to-earth people at Eastman House, where I worked for 26 years, intersected by about 10 of hers. She was the girl I never would have had the nerve to talk to, had we met in High school of someplace, so it was great that we got to innocently talk and laugh at lunch in the breakroom once a week. Her stories were funny and touching (dropping a bottle of wine on her toe while alighting from a NYC cab launching a weekend there now ruined, of course and rounding up a frantic poodle in the middle of traffic). I knew she was failing in later years and was sad to hear of her death. She could light up a (lunch) room.
