Obituary of Mary N. Fiorica

Mary Fiorica (born in Realmonte, Italy) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 18, 2024, on her 73rd birthday.

Mary was a retired teacher with over 40+ years of service in the Rochester City School District. She loved the beach and enjoyed her part-time residence in Boca Raton, Florida. Mary was predeceased by her life partner, Marvin Goldsberry, and her parents Anna and Antonio Fiorica. She is survived by her two sisters, Josephine (Charles) Leone and Anna (Antonio) Ferro, and her beloved nieces and nephews: Caterina (Giuseppe) Leone-Mannino, Anna Maria (Abel) Leone-Tobar, Joseph (Patty) Leone, Salvatore (Andrea) Ferro, Anthony (Audrey) Ferro, along with many great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She is also remembered by aunts, uncles, and cousins in Italy, along with her friends, colleagues, and students, whose lives she touched.

In honor of Mary’s legacy, the family will hold a Funeral Mass for close family and friends at St. Ann’s Community Parkes Family Chapel, 1550 Portland Ave., Rochester, NY 14621 on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 10am. Interment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. 

The family expresses their gratitude to all the nurses, doctors, and aides at Highland Hospital and St. Ann's Community for their attentive care and support. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Ann’s Foundation (Leo Centre for Caring) or Golisano Childrens Hospital.
