Obituary of Rena C. Grassi
Rena C. Grassi (Zazzara)
Rena C.Grassi, loving mother of 5, grandmother of 12, and great grandmother of 12 peacefully passed away Thursday, October 10th at Maplewood Nursing Home with family by her side. She was born February 2, 1930 to Amedeo and Antonetta Zazzara (Di Cursio) in Rochester NY. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Robert A. Grassi, her cherished son Joseph M. Grassi, her parents, Amedeo and Antonetta, her brothers Amelio, Luigi, Manley, Alfred, and Attelio (John), and her sister Nancy Noto. She is survived by her children Patricia A. (Michael) Pragel, Robert J. (Martha) Grassi, Judy E. Bender, Virginia M. (Eric) Meredith, daughter-in-law Susan M. Grassi, her brother-in-law John Noto, sister-in-law Patricia Grassi, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Rena was born in Rochester NY. She graduated from East High School in 1948. During and after school she worked at Rochester Envelope Company. Rena loved to bowl, golf, dance and spend time with friends. Above all Rena especially loved her family and attended every sporting event, recital, concert and awards ceremony for her children and grandchildren with great love and pride. The family would like to thank the nurses, aids and staff at Maplewood for their wonderful care and support over the last four plus years.
There are no prior calling hours. Rena’s funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 19th at St Paul’s Church (783 Hard Rd., Webster, NY). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association https://www.alz.org/ or the Red Cross https://www.redcross.org/
