Obituary of Gail Graham
Gail M. Graham, 73, formerly of Watertown, N.Y. passed away on September 18, 2024, at her home in Webster, N.Y. surrounded by family.
Gail was born in Watertown on August 13, 1951, daughter of the late Charles H. Baker and Helena (Haas) Baker. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Fredonia State University, as well as a master’s in education with Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from Oswego State University.
With a love of math and children, Gail began her teaching career at West Carthage Elementary and continued through several elementary schools in Watertown teaching Kindergarten and 1st Grade. She ultimately became Principal of Immaculate Heart Central Elementary School, guiding the four parish schools through consolidation. She retired in June 2011, after thirty-two years in education.
Outside of school, Gail cherished her time with family and friends, celebrated her faith as a parishioner at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and enjoyed reading, putting together puzzles, and late-night poker games around the kitchen table with her family.
Gail is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Michael J., as well as her children Gregory (Betsy) Graham, Waterford, N.Y., Melissa (Shane) Riley, Webster, N.Y., David (Yvonne) Graham, Macedon, N.Y., and Deanna (Derek) Heerkens, Penfield, N.Y. She will forever be known as “Myna” by her eight grandchildren, Ryan, Mason, Luke, Teagan, Bryce, Connor, Declan and Saylor.
She is predeceased by her siblings, Sandra Miller, Albert Baker, and Richard Baker.
Falvo Funeral Home is assisting with the funeral and cremation arrangements. There will be no calling hours. Cremation will be at White Haven Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. A funeral mass, celebrating Gail's life, will be on Monday, September 23rd, 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 43 Gebhardt Rd, Penfield, N.Y. 14526.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 43 Gebhardt Rd, Penfield, N.Y 14526 or St. Patrick’s Church 123 S. Massey St, Watertown, N.Y. 13601.
