Obituary of Louis Adio Abbondanzieri
ROCHESTER- Louis Adio Abbondanzieri passed away at home, Sunday, August 25th, 2024, at the age of 59, after battling his cancer with strength and determination, surrounded by the love of his family.
Lou was born in Rochester, NY on August 24th, 1965 to Louis and Sharen Lynn Abbondanzieri. He was raised in Naples, NY and graduated from NCS in 1983 with a degree in welding and shop trades and shortly after he started Abbey Tree Service. Although his career was in the tree & stump business, his real passion was being a father to Sam and an avid outdoorsman. There wasn’t an opening day of trout season that Lou wasn’t walking or rolling Naples Creek with a fly rod in his hand and friends by his side. Additionally, there wasn’t an opening day of deer season that Lou didn’t always have a story to tell, then have laughs over beers with friends at the Middletown Tavern. Lou was always up for a challenge of fixing or repairing anything from a lawnmower to a bulldozer and when asked “Why?”, Lou’s response would be “Why not?”.
His greatest accomplishment was watching his son Sam grow to be a responsible, mature young man that also works in the trade field and was alongside Lou while fishing and hunting in Irondequoit, Naples, Canada and South Carolina.
Whether you knew Lou from Naples, the Irondequoit Bay Fish & Game Club, Point Pleasant Fire Department or Outlet Rod & Gun Club… Or perhaps his much sought after spinny hots at M’s, one of his homemade pickles at Grape Fest from L&S Sausage Co., or the tree service industry, there is one common thought – everyone loved being around Lou. With his infectious smile and signature laugh, Lou’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void that will echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
After being diagnosed with cancer and then his injury, his longtime partner Ashley was at his side helping, organizing and supporting his care till his final days. A huge, heartfelt thank you to all of Lou’s #loustrong family for your continued love and support over the years. Also a special thank you to all of his doctors, nurses, physical and occupational therapist’s, caregivers and neighbors for their enduring help throughout his courageous fight.
Lou is survived by his loving son, Sam; father, Lou (Deb); sisters, Tracy (Lee) and Crystle; Uncle Angelo and Aunt Donna and many other family members as well as his cherished partner in life, Ashley.
He is predeceased by his Grandmother, Grace Ann; Grandfather, Adio; mother, Sharen; and his nephew, Austin.
