Obituary of Lillian Rosalie Tubiolo

Lillian Rosalie Tubiolo, 85, passed peacefully on Friday, August 16th,2024, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born in Rochester, NY on July 22nd,1939, to Salvatore and Josephine Romano. Lillian received her RN degree from St. Mary’s School of Nursing. Throughout her 45-year career she was a labor and delivery / OBGYN nurse where she made friendships that lasted a lifetime. Lillian was always going to dinner or luncheons with her classmates from nursing school and high school, (OLM). She often spoke of friends and told stories from years gone by. Lillian began her career at St. Mary’s Hospital, she retired from Unity Hospital in January of 2002, her retirement lasted exactly one month.

In February 2002 she began her second career at Willink Middle School, she said it was the job that she had the most fun at. As a lunch lady at Willink Middle School, she was known as “Grandma” to everyone, kids would constantly stop and say “Hi Grandma” whenever and wherever they saw her. Her friendships at Willink meant the world to her, she truly enjoyed that time of her life. She was “Grandma” to everyone.

To her family she was a force of nature, the matriarch of matriarchs, when times were tough, she dug in and pushed forward, she had no quit in her. When times were good, she was the last one to leave the party. As our mom we learned from what she did, not what she said. As a grandmother to one girl and four boys, she never missed a game, match or cheer competition, Grandma was the loudest cheerleader of them all. If her grandkids were playing; she was there!

Mom is still loved; she will be missed more than she ever thought possible.

Mom is survived by; son Peter Tubiolo (Christine Lawrence), daughters Elaine (Richard) LiVecchi and Laura (Okan) Serce: grandchildren Chrystal (Nathan) Foster, Richard (Stephanie) LiVecchi, Peter J. Tubiolo, Nicholas Serce and Michael Tubiolo. Great granddaughter Ava LiVecchi and great grandson Dominic Foster. Sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; including caregivers Bonnie Romano and Michelle Dugan .

Lillian is predeceased by her parents Salvatore and Josephine Romano, Peter A. Tubiolo and daughter-in-law Julie A. Tubiolo. Lillian is the last of the Golden Girls of Willowen Drive; Irene Loiacono, Marie Kolesnik and Connie Bates.

Calling hours will be held at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Webster Road, Webster, NY 14580, on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A memorial service will be held at St. Ambrose Church on 25 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY 14609, at 9:30a.m. on Saturday August 24, 2024 followed by internment at White Haven Memorial Park.
