Obituary of Jamieson R. Ritter

Jamieson R. Ritter, age 27, was killed in the line of duty on the Fourth of July while serving and protecting the community as a Police Officer in Cleveland, Ohio.

Beloved son of Jon and Karen Ritter (Bianchi); loving brother of Alysia Snook (Robert), Jonathan (Annaliese) and Angelica Ritter Chatterton (Alexei); much-loved uncle of Ryleigh and Wyatt; and devoted pet-dad to dogs Otis and Bandit and cats Cardi-C and Stui. He was a loving nephew, cousin, and dear friend of many, especially his fellow officers in the Cleveland Police Department and fellow Soldiers in the Ohio National Guard, and the community he proudly served.

A 2015 graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School, Jamieson grew up with profound desire to serve his country and his community.  He graduated from Syracuse University in 2019 and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. As a member of the Ohio Army National Guard, he deployed to Syria in 2022 and returned to continue his service with the city of Cleveland.

Calling hours will be on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Road, Webster, NY.

Please join the family to celebrate and honor Jamieson’s selfless sacrifice with a memorial service on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Browncroft Community Church, 2530 Browncroft Boulevard, Rochester, NY. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory are suggested to Genessee Valley Concerns of Police Survivors   or  The Syracuse University Jamieson Ritter Memorial Scholarship Fund .

Jamieson’s infectious smile and off-beat humor will be missed deeply by all who knew him. In addition to the many cousins and friends, Jamieson is survived by his Aunts and Uncles; Mike Bianchi(Rose), Richard Bianchi(Melisande), Sonia Mott, Nancy Bianchi(Dick), Joan Barnard(Ricke), Jim Ritter (Karin), Jeff Ritter (Jill), Jean Gaylord (David), Donna Erskine (Ken), Teresa VanTassel and Gregory Bianchi.
