Obituary of Vivianne Cherubin
Vivianne Cherubin, née Dubourg, aged 78, passed away on June 21, 2024, in Rochester, New York. Born on July 27, 1945, in Saint Marc, Haiti, she was a cherished member of her community and a beacon of love for her family.
Vivianne is survived by her devoted husband, Fritz Cherubin, and their children, Jude Cherubin (Lorraine), Sidney Cherubin, Sonny Cherubin, and Farrah Cherubin (Odie). She was a proud grandmother to Patrick, Tatyana, Micah, Jylani, Giselle, Yanice, and Vivianne Cherubin; and a great-grandmother to Brielle Cherubin.
She leaves behind her siblings, Lucien Dubourg (Nicole), Marlene Dubourg, and Monique Verna. Her extended family includes in-laws, Marlene Jeanty (Roger), Antoine Fresnel Jean-Pierre (Marie Yolaine), Michel Frantz Molaire (Tulienne), and Ernest Jean-Pierre (Therese), along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
Vivianne was preceded in death by her parents, Jean Louis and Clara Dubourg, née Augustin, and her brother Michel Dubourg (Yvette).
Vivianne moved to the United States where she established herself as a talented caterer and baker, known especially within the Haitian communities in New York City and Miami. She lovingly prepared food for countless significant life events, including baptisms, communions, confirmations, and weddings. Later relocating to Rochester, NY, she transitioned to a career as a home health aide, a role she held with dedication until her breast cancer diagnosis in 1999.
Her life was a testament to the strength and resilience she embodied, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her family and friends will gather to honor her memory and celebrate her life, cherishing the countless memories they created together.
Calling hours for Vivianne will be held on July 5, 2024, from 4pm-7pm at Falvo Funeral Home, located at 1395 N Goodman St, Rochester, NY 14609. A Funeral Mass will follow on July 6, 2024, at 10 am at Church of the Annunciation, 1760 Norton Street, Rochester, NY 14609. A reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory at St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
