Obituary of Aurea E. Gladfelter
Aurea Ester "Myra" Gladfelter
Myra, as she was more commonly called was born in Santurce, San Juan P.R. September 17,1924. She passed at home on May 17th; four months short of her 100th birthday.
She is predeceased by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her three sons Arthur (Debra), John, and Michael Gladfelter. Myra came here after WWII, where she proudly served in the Women’s Army Corp (WAC). With the help of Mildred Lowe, she raised her sons here in the city. She was a long-time employee of IBM where she worked in the secretarial field, retiring in1990. Myra loved to dance, taking lessons when she was in her 80's. and volunteering in the foster grandparent program. She will be greatly missed.
No prior calling hours. Myra's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 24th at 10:00 a.m. in the Peace of Christ Parish at St. Ambrose Church. Entombment following at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
