Obituary of Joanne L. Ferren

Joanne L. Ferren (DiPalermo)

Penfield: February 12, 1942-January 30, 2024. Passed peacefully at the age of 81 surrounded by her loving children. She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, David Ferren and her eldest son, Michael Cerra. Joanne is survived by her children, Charlene Miller, Anthony (Marianne) Cerra, Lisa Cerra, Brent (Tracy) Ferren & Michael (Marty) Ferren; 13 grandchildren; her sister, Theresa Gagliano, many nieces and dear friends.

Having been born and raised in New York, Joanne called Rochester her home. She attended East High School. Her and Dave, together, raised a blended family of six. They shared a love of music and dancing, and spent many years experiencing and enjoying sights around the globe.

They traveled often among New York, Florida, and Kansas to spend time with family and friends. They were fortunate to have a close circle of friends and neighbors; all of whom they enjoyed entertaining with wonderful dinners and parties through the years.

If you knew Joanne, you knew she was a fabulous cook, never forgot an occasion to send out a card. She loved to get her Christmas cards in the mail on November 1st.

Joanne was the kind of person that you instantly connected with when you met her. She knew people everywhere she went and was a friend to all who knew and loved her.

Our mother was a kind, generous, sassy, and funny, a one of a kind woman whose zest for life will be deeply missed.
