Obituary of Heather M. Lord

Heather McGar Lord, born on June 1, 1963, in Binghamton, NY sadly left us on 11/21/23.  Her life was a testament to joy, passion, and resilience.  Heather’s journey began at Mamaroneck High School, and it continued through the hallowed halls of Burlington University in Vermont, where she proudly earned her degree.  From the outset, she displayed an unwavering commitment to her work, initially contributing her talents to a law firm.  However, Heather’s entrepreneurial spirit lead her to blaze her own trail, and she founded Heather Lord and Associates, LLC, a testament to her ambition and determination.  Beyond the boardroom, Heather found solace and inspiration in the simple joys of life.  An avid reader, she would find both escape and enlightenment within the pages of a good book.  Her culinary skill was a source of delight for those fortunate to taste her creations; particularly with her baking.  Heather reveled in the beauty of the great outdoors.  Camping trips and moments spent in nature were not just pastimes for her but an integral part of her spirit.  The thrill of discovering hidden treasures drew her to rummage sales, where she found joy in the stories behind each unique find. 

In her departure, Heather is reunited with her parents, Frank and Esther McGar, her brother Stuart McGar, and her son Dorian Lord.  She is survived by her children, Dulcinea Lord and Maxwell Lord, as well as her siblings, Priscilla McGar, Bruce McGar and Ian McGar.

A Memorial Service will be held on November 28, 2023 at 11:00 am, at Falvo Funeral Home, 1395 North Goodman Street in Rochester, NY.  This will be a time for reflection, sharing stories and celebrating the life of Heather McGar Lord.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations or contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, a cause close to Heather’s heart.
