Obituary of James Paul DiNoto

Predeceased by his father, James; mother, Flora; brother, Samuel. father-in-law, Ross. Survived by his wife, Roberta DiNoto; longtime partner, Michael Mummery; niece, Samantha Nally (Daniel); sister-in-law, Roseann Lesio; nieces, Carolyn (Stephanie) Lesio, Catherine Lesio; mother-in-law, Rose Toscano; many other family members and friends.

Jim lived a full life.  Graduated from Eastridge High and went to work at Star Markets.  He went to night school at RIT where he graduated with a business accounting degree in 1991.  He was the first in his family to graduate college. His father hobbled to the ceremony with a broken ankle to see his son graduate.

Jim and Roberta were high school sweethearts who dated for 6 years before getting married. They had a wonderful happy marriage and have been married 44 years.  As life goes on and things change they separated 27 years ago but remained as close as ever through life’s turns and challenges.  26 years ago, Jim met Michael.  They fell in love and have been together ever since.  They formed a successful business and lived their best lives.  They all traveled a lot and made memories that will always be there.

While Jim didn’t have children he had 3 nieces, who he was close to and we were an integral part of each others lives.  It has given him the most pleasure to call them his children because they really have been.

Jim’s sister-in-law Roseann has been such a big part of his life.  From their geeky high school days until now there has always been a thread of love between them that made their relationship strong.

Jim loved to travel the world.  Whether with Michael, Roberta, or his nieces, there was always a new adventure in his sights.  Someone gave him a plaque with this saying. “Eat Well, Travel Often”.  That is how he would want to be remembered.  A big grin on his face as he flew off for his next adventure.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 3 – 6pm at Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Frpt. Nine Mile Pt. Rd. Webster, NY 14580.
