Reata Boyea, beloved wife, mother and nana, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dale Boyea; four children: Bill (Jan) Boyea of Bloomfield, NY, Cindy (Joe) Marushak of Big Canoe, Georgia, Stephanie (Brian) Bean of Lima, NY, and Nicole Boyea (Andy Norwood) of Henrietta, NY; 11 grandchildren: Alyssa (Courtney Owens) and Jarrid (Courtney) Boyea, Emily (Chris) Benz, Holly (Tyler) Marshall, Ben, Josh (Katrina), Elizabeth, Sam and Luke Bean, Eliza and Lindsay Dratt; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Ann (Rodney) Eldridge and many, many other members of her large, extended family.

Reata was born at home in Ft. Covington, NY on January 18, 1943, daughter of the late Harold and Ethel (Bean) Brockway and lived on the “Hill Top Farm.” She was an exceptional student, cheerleader and member of the “Future Homemakers of America,” graduating from Salmon River Central School in 1960.

Dale, Reata, and their young family moved to Rochester in 1966. After residing in the city for a short time, they moved to Henrietta and then on to Middle Road in Rush where they lived for nearly 50 years.

Reata will be fondly remembered for her beautiful flower gardens, bountiful vegetable gardens, family dinners, meticulously clean home, delicious homemade bread, love of wild birds (so long as they were outside,) holiday celebrations, Saturday night popcorn, game nights, and unconditional love for all her family. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Rush.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by 13 siblings, Madeline Leroux, Thelma Brockway, Gerald Brockway, Eloise Keefe, Carmel Jock, Joyce Smith, Yvonne Leroux, William Brockway, June Smith, Jerome Brockway, Sister John Mary (Donna Brockway), John Brockway, and Frank Brockway.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 26 at 10am at St. Marianne Cope Parish at Guardian Angel’s Church (2061 E. Henrietta Rd. Rochester 14623). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes Association.
