Obituary of Kimanhi Boyd Hinds
Kimanhi “Troy” Boyd Hinds born on March 8, 1982 in Kingston, Jamaica, was called home by his mother on May, 29 2023 at the age of 41 in Rochester, New York. Kimanhi was the definition of what love is, he expressed his genuineness, warmth and compassion to everyone around him. Kimanhi’s presence was felt in any room he entered. Kimanhi was truly inspiring. He lived his life to fullest, embracing every moment with determination and a positive attitude. His infectious smile, optimistic spirit, and enthusiasm was unmatched. He had a loving nature that uplifted everyone around him and became a source of motivation for others to persevere. He proved that even the most difficult circumstances could not keep him down.
Survived by father; Michael Hinds, mother; Paulette James (deceased). Four children; Mya Harper (24), Elysyia Hinds (22), Kimanhi Hinds (16), and Alexia Hinds (14). Three grandchildren; Malanhi Young (4), Carsyn Harvey (1), and Winston Young III (1). Wife; Shevell Byfield-Hinds. Four siblings; Richard Hinds, Mark Hinds, Michelle Hinds, and Shauntau Latty, and many many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins here in America, Jamaica & London.
Kimanhi attended Franklin Town School in Kingston, Jamaica. He then migrated to the United States, where he continued his education by attending PS183, middle school 292, then graduated from Maxwell High school. He then attended a trade school in Brooklyn New York, specializing in construction. Shortly after, Kimanhi settled in Rochester, New York. Years later in life, he created an entertainment business; “Links Family, LLC” in Kingston, Jamaica and in Rochester, NY.
Kimanhi was a family man at heart. He took on the father figure role and was a role model to all his cousins, nieces and nephews. Kimanhi was his family’s comfort, their guidance, their leader, their strength, and their hope. His love and adoration for his children were unparalleled. With his indomitable spirit, intelligence and brightness, he went above and beyond to make sure his children and family have a successful future. He always encouraged his children to never give up, dream big, and go above the stars. Kimanhi had a passion for music, fashion, exotic cars, and being surrounded by family. Above all, Kimanhi cherished his children and family.
Calling hours Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 3-7pm at Falvo Funeral Home, 1395 N. Goodman Street Rochester, NY 14609. Interment Jamaica.
