Obituary of Jose Manuel Hernandez
Jose Manuel Hernandez, 87, has been called home to be with our Lord on May 19, 2023, in Rochester, NY. He was born on January 1, 1936, in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, and his life was a testament to his unwavering faith and devotion to God. He lived a life of humility, gratitude, and respect for all of God's creation, and his legacy will continue to inspire us all.
Jose was a man of deep faith who found solace and strength in the presence of God. He was a compassionate, caring, loving, considerate, giving, tender, and loyal man, who lived his life with a deep sense of purpose and meaning. He saw God's hand in every aspect of his life and was grateful for the blessings that were bestowed upon him.
Jose's passing is a great loss to his surviving children, Jose (Jr), Freddy, Eddie, Lydia, and Miguel, as well as his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and godchildren. We mourn his loss, but we take comfort in the knowledge that he has been reunited with his beloved wife, Lydia Esther, and his son, Luis Daniel, who preceded him in death.
A calling hour is scheduled for Thursday, May 25th, 2023, at Falvo Funeral Home, 1395 N. Goodman St, between 4 PM and 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 26th, at 9:30 AM at Holy Apostles Church, 7 Austin St. in Rochester, where Jose worshipped and found peace in the presence of God.
Jose loved working on cars, cooking, fishing, watching boxing and wrestling, and watching novellas and FOX news religiously. He saw God's hand in every aspect of his life and was grateful for the blessings that were bestowed upon him. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that was close to Jose's heart and a testament to his deep sense of compassion and love for all of God's children.
We honor the life and legacy of Jose Manuel Hernandez, a man of deep faith, humility, gratitude, and respect for all of God's creation. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to us all.
