Matty grew up two doors from our family. He was older than me. I remember I was supposed to go to school early one morning. Matty was walking to high school, Lafayette. He asked me why I was going to school so early. He kept asking me "are you sure you're supposed to go to school be going this early? I was so worried that he was right I turned around and went home. I trusted he was right.
I enjoyed watching him and his friends, including Tony Maciello playing basketball in his backyard.
Matty was always happy with a smile on his face and always friendly.
I know Matty will be missed by his family. When I talk to his mother she always spoke of him with love in her voice.
Matty, even though I haven't seen you in years, I will miss you and cherish that I knew you.

Matt was a beautiful light in the workplace. Always willing to help and to cut through the weeds so to speak. I enjoyed working with him and pray all who were touched by him are warmed by the memories of him.

Matt was a good human and just a joy to be around. He was Sherri's best friend and soulmate. When we visited them, he would welcome us with open arms, making us feel like we were part of their family. The first visit included the kiddos. Jess' youngest son packed his own suitcase which included his Playstation, 50 video games, 2 controllers and ONLY one pair of underwear and change of clothes. Per Matt- "Hey man, clothes aren't that important and can be washed! Let's hook this game up and have some fun!" One thing we could always count on was his daily morning knock on our bedroom door saying "room service" with coffee and donuts/pastries which we shared with them on the patio as he proudly showed us his gorgeous back yard. The world has lost a good one, that is for sure. Matt, we will miss you and we will forever follow your advice- "Girls, don't behave, just have fun and ride a motorcycle."

I only worked with Matt for a short time, but he was very dependable and quickly became one of my go to people. Matt became a true friend over the years and I think about him often. I can remember talking to Matt during a bad day and we often talked each other off the fence. He will truly be missed.

I only knew Matt for a few years when we were players on the A's baseball team. Matt and I became known as the geriatric battery, he as the pitcher and me as his catcher. Whenever our team struggled it was the old timers who could end a losing streak. We were the same age back then in our early 40's and just seemed to have the right chemistry when working together. Everything I've read about Matt from people who were fortunate to know him longer than I did is exactly the way I found him to be. I was shocked to learn about his passing and just wanted to express my condolences to his entire family and friends. Until we meet again my friend keep a spot warm on the bench for me. RIP

I’ve known Matt for about 45 years. We played baseball together, rode motorcycles together, coached the kids together and played in several bands together. There’s not enough space to mention all the great times we’ve shared. Matt had a terrific work ethic and never hesitated to come down the street at night to help fix my computer or help with a household project or even put extra time in to learn a drum part. He loved people and pets. I remember him showing up late for band practice on a number of occasions because he was spending extra time with his I’ll mother in law. Many nights he came to the basement practice room late because he was upstairs talking to my elder mother in law. He always new what was most important in life and he did those things. Matt loved his dogs. Even when they acted rambunctiousness he would speak kind and softly to them. I always admired his disposition and kindness. Matt never hesitated to talk about his kids. He thought the world of them any chance he had. I don’t think I ever heard Matt complain about his bout with cancer either. He was strong but gentle. I have so much respect for him and will always cherish the friendship we shared. My heart is heavy but I will never forget the good times we shared. Rest in peace my good friend.

Oh Matt! Remembering back to when we met. I had hired Sherri to be part of the team I supervised. You both came down to 'the office' in south central PA, just as a stop on your way elsewhere. Then BAM, sure you come down with diverticulitis. Not just a mild case, oh no, you did it right. Spent quite a few days in the hospital. Sherri spent a few days at our house and up to then all I heard was about 'My Matty'. Then my family and I finally got to meet you. Wow, Sherri's Matty was everything and more. The love and devotion between the two of you - nothing short of what each couple could only dream about. Matt's advice to our youngest about becoming a Marine, and they are now Brothers forever. That darn twinkle in his eye was telltale that he was up to something! Whether it was playing jokes on anyone to setting people straight, you never shied away from any opportunity. Known in your retirement as Sherri's personal IT guy too. Matt, you did it all, lived like no other and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have come to know you. May you fly high with the Angels forever and ever.

When you woke up this morning
did you notice I was gone?
Did you see the mist of my life evaporating away in the sunrise?
Oh I'm sure it wasn't an incident of consequence given there was no tangible impact to you.
Just another casualty of the war of life. Another lost 'friend' that not only could have been, but actually was so much more.
...at least, it was....for me......

I will never forget the first day I met Matt. He came into our office and I instantly knew he was someone who leave a footprint on my heart forever. As I exited the room I said “you got to see this guys hair!” Our office all marveled at Matt’s hair- it quickly became known as the Matt the patient with the amazing hair. As we got to all know Matt and Sherri they soon became more than our patient’s - they have touched our hearts and will not be forgotten . Prayers to Sherri and the family. We know what a huge loss this is and we feel it as well.♥️
We are so grateful we got to know Matt!

We would like to share our deepest sympathy and condolences to my sister Sherri, Ryan and Lauren's Aunt, as well as all of Mathew's family and friends. Uncle Matt was wonderful, good, kind, decent man in every sense. He was a supportive and loving husband, and took great care of and loved my mother.
I have added a photo of Matt with husband Bruce and brother in law Paul, from a black tie New Years Eve Party at our home.
Rest in Peace Matt.
