Obituary of Felix Mario Sciarratta

Penfield: Passed away peacefully Monday, March 20th, 2023 at age 93, with his beloved children and grandchildren by his side.

Felix was born in Rochester, NY on March 3rd, 1930. At the age of 17, Felix enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Berlin, Germany, where he served as an air traffic controller during the Berlin Airlift. Felix served in the USAF for nearly ten years, during which he earned numerous medals and commendations. By the end of his service, he had reached the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Upon returning to Rochester, Felix started working as a car salesman, eventually working his way up to becoming the sole proprietor of the Eastway Lincoln Mercury dealership in Webster, NY for 27 years. He was beloved by his customers and staff, earning him the nickname “Felix the Cat.” Felix took his love of cars very seriously, so much so that in 1969, he would not allow President Richard Nixon to use one of his Lincoln “block-long” limousines during a visit to Rochester, for fear that he may stand on the hood and scratch it.

Even after selling his dealership and “retiring,” Felix continued to sell cars alongside his son, Glenn, and grandson, Michael. He also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.

Felix was a strong supporter of his fellow veterans until the last of his days. He was also an avid animal lover and supporter of numerous local animal organizations. He was ferociously fond of his beloved cats, Moses and Ginger.

He leaves behind three children, Glenn Sciarratta (Margaret), Suzanne Sciarratta, and Julie Sciarratta; four grandchildren, Keith (Kayleigh) Sciarratta, Rose Sciarratta, Michael Sciarratta (Joelle), and Mary Thornton, and one great grandchild, Evelyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents Felix and Jessie; as well as two brothers Albert and Joseph and one sister Connie Presicci.

Calling hours on Friday, March 24, from 4 – 7pm at Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Fpt. Nine Mile Pt. Rd. (Route 250) Webster, N.Y. Funeral services and interment private.
