Obituary of Gregory Sonner

Fairport: Passed away on March 6, 2023, at age 52, after battling cancer. He leaves his devoted wife, Stephanie, cherished daughters, Katie and Allie; His father, Richard and stepmother Paulette; mother, Ellen Sonner; mother-in-law, Linda Lauffer (predeceased father-in-law Christopher Lauffer), siblings, Elizabeth Sonner, Michael DeMaria, Christine DeMaria (Jeremy Starr), brother-in-law, Peter (Whitney) Lauffer,  his nieces Jenna, Taylor, and Lyla, and nephew Noah.

As a graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School and the University of Colorado at Boulder, Greg was self-employed in the environmental monitoring business. Greg loved anything that could be done outdoors. He was an avid skiier, snowboarder, sailor, and hiker. His family had many memorable camping trips and times at the family cottage on Keuka Lake. Greg had such a big heart, and he always put his family and friends before himself.

Calling hours on Monday, March 13 from 4 – 7pm at Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Fpt. Nine Mile Pt. Rd. Webster, N.Y. 14580. A memorial service and gathering celebrating Greg’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 14 at All Seasons Chapel in White Haven Memorial Park at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute may consider McQuaid Jesuit HS, or the National Park Foundation.
