As we mourn the passing of our beloved sister and aunt, we also celebrate a long life well lived. Joan was the General family matriarch. She was the one everyone called at any time of the day or night, for counsel, advice, cooking tips, and long conversation. She was also the one who called every family member to check on them, and to remember every family member's birthday and special occasion. Joan loved cooking large family dinners and hosting the annual General Family Picnic. Extremely intelligent and witty, she brought laughter and happiness to all who knew her and she maintained her gift of humor to the very end. Joan will be forever missed and now joins her loving husband of 42 years Hans, mother Grace, sister Jackie, niece Vicky, sister-in-law Sue, brother-in-laws Charlie and Bob.

November 30, 2022 Lori White wrote a sympathy message “My Condolences to Joanie's family. She made many trips up North to Akwesasne with Evelyn and stayed with my Grandmother Grace many times. We actually believed she was our Aunt growing up and she didn't tell us different. She was a such a nice lady, who enjoyed her trips to our homes and the Casino. My grand daughter Remy was quite fond of her. We will miss our visits. Please except our condolences and know she was loved in Akwesasne NY.
