Obituary of Anna Cannizzaro

Anna Cannizzaro (Santomauro)

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Anna Cannizzaro passed away peacefully on July 5, 2022, at home with her family members by her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Cannizzaro, her sister, Franca (Santomauro) Piras, brothers, Donato, Michele, Salvatore, and Antonio Santomauro. Survived by her son John (Bobbie) Cannizzaro and daughter, Tina (Bruce) Benson; Grandchildren, Michael, Kristina & Anthony Benson and Anthony, John & Christopher Cannizzaro; Great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Charles & Juliana Cannizzaro; also, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was blessed with unparalleled culinary abilities. She loved to cook for gatherings of family and friends. Christmas was never complete until the large tin of Grandma’s cookies arrived. She enjoyed patronizing local farmers and farmer’s market, especially the Rochester Public Market.

Her love of family had no bounds. She was a loyal friend with many friendships lasting many decades. Her engaging smile, effervescent personality and fun-loving character made her truly unique.

She retired from Eastman Kodak. She was a longtime owner of Tony’s Tux and Bridal with her husband Tony and her daughter Tina. She was a meticulous seamstress and connoisseur of all things Italian. She was a three-time survivor of breast cancer and a passionate animal lover.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 4-7 pm at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Pt. Rd. (Rte. 250) Webster. Please join the family Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 11 am in Holy Trinity Catholic Church (1460 Ridge Rd. Webster) for the celebration of her Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Lollypop Farm. Entombment White Haven Memorial Park.
