Obituary of F. Peter Flihan

Called by the Lord on Monday, December 20, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents FJ Flihan and Rose (Shaheen) Flihan and his sister Rose Mary Flihan. Peter was born in Utica, NY, August 11, 1943, attended local schools and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Syracuse University.

He is survived by his sister, Theresa Karrat, brother, Anthony J. Flihan, several nieces and nephews and many extended family members in Utica.

Peter retired as Manager of the Rochester, NY, US Small Business Administration (SBA) office after 30 years of service. He worked closely with congressional representatives, leaders of local financial institutions and their staff to inform and promote SBA programs available to small business entrepreneurs.

In retirement, he enjoyed sailing, swimming and travels to the Grand Canyon, Eastern Europe, Spain, and Morocco.

Peter’s Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, June 22^nd, at 10:00 AM at St. Kateri Parish, St. Cecilia Church, 2732 Culver Rd. Internment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Utica, NY, with his beloved parents and sister Rose Mary, at a later date.
