Obituary of Violet Rose Jones

Violet Rose Jones, 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Webster on June 12, 2022. She was a woman of uncommon strength and determination who showed great love and a welcoming home to her family and friends. Violet was known for her friendliness, generosity, and easy-going nature. She lived in the Rochester area all her life and retired from a career at the Newark State School where she lovingly cared for the disabled. Violet enjoyed traveling, reading, socializing with friends and family and was extremely skillful at games of all kinds. She took great joy in being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She loved animals and donated regularly to animal care and protection organizations.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Theresa and Murray Leonard; her husband Wilford Jones and her sister Drucilla (Jerry). Violet leaves cherished memories to her loving children Richard Chamberlain (Maria); Sharol Neugent (Lan); Wiford “Buddy’ Jones (Marion); granddaughters Lisa Kester (Chad) (Chad Phillip and Shana) (Vanessa, Scarlett); and Wendy Hayden (Sean) (Zachary and Nathaniel); her nieces, Deborah Aiken and JoAnn Democovich, and her grandnephew David Ferguson (Kim) (Jessica and Ashley). She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her including her friends Darlene, Glenn, Katie, Sue, Michelle, and Susan.

Remains rest at the Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Webster Road, Webster, New York. A private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, NY 14450.
