Obituary of Margarita Pinero

Margarita “Cuchita” Piñero, of 193 Weaver Street, Rochester, New York, passed away, Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the Rochester General Hospital, following a brief illness, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and other family members.

Born May 15, 1959 in Juncos, Puerto Rico, Margarita is predeceased by her mother Carmen Julia Viera Serrano and her father, Alejandro Piñero Navarrete. 

Margarita relocated to Rochester in 1985 with her daughter Yaritza Massa. While settling into her new life in Rochester, she became a mother to two more children, Maria M. Rodriguez and Julio “Julito” Rodriguez.

During her residence in Rochester, NY, Margarita was employed at several companies as a housekeeping caretaker. Upon completion of her caretaker career, she then settled down as a dedicated full-time homemaker to her children and grandchildren. 

Margarita’s favorite holidays were Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining her family and friends during these holidays. She was an excellent cook and made a killer Coquito, which everybody loved, along with her summer time assorted flavor juleps.

Margarita is survived by her children Reymond Robles, Yaritza Massa, Maria M. Rodriguez, and Julio “Julito” Rodriguez and predeceased by her twin sons Noel & Joel; her siblings Lydia E. Piñero, Carmen M. Piñero, Norma I. Piñero, Alejandro “Jun” Piñero, Angel Luis “Awii” Piñero, Franciso Piñero, Efrain “Filin” Piñero, along with several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Margarita is also predeceased by her brother Samuel “Coco” Piñero. 

Funeral Services will be held at Falvo Funeral Home, located at 1395 N. Goodman Street, Rochester, NY. The wake is scheduled for Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm, with the funeral services scheduled for Friday, April 29, 2022 at 10am at the Falvo Funeral Home.
