Obituary of Josephine M. Lombardo
Josephine Muratore Lombardo.
Predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years Salvatore “Sam”Lombardo; parents Nicholas and Sarah Muratore; sister Caroline and brothers Nicholas and Peter; grandson Gregory Lombardo. Survived by her sons Michael (Jim), Daniel (Alice), Steven (Betsy); grandchildren Nicholas, Jacob and Jordan; sister Rosemary Lubey; many loving nieces, nephews and good friends. Jo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
She was a devout and longtime active member of Corpus Christi Church. She was an avid volunteer in helping others through many church and community organizations as a Cub Scout den mother, CCD instructor, and church youth group leader. She distributed communion to the infirm and worked with the Sister Regis food pantry and the church social justice ministry. Jo was a retiree of the Rochester City School District and a graduate of Monroe Community College and SUNY Empire State College. She enjoyed GEVA Theater, concerts, gardening, travel and gatherings with family and friends. She will be missed by many.
No prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Jo’s life at Corpus Christi Church, East Main St at Prince St on Tuesday November 23 at 11 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to Foodlink (Po Box 60766 14606) or Isaiah House (71 Prince St 14605).
