Obituary of Cinderine M. Giancaterin

Cinderine Giancaterin

October 25, 1920 - October 30, 2021

Grandma G passed away Saturday, October 30 in Rochester, NY.

She was born in Pennsylvania and relocated to Rochester, NY prior to World War II. 

She attended Charlotte high school, graduated with honors, and obtained a scholarship to business school. She was busy raising 5 children but was able to work at Security Bank, John Luther and Son’s Construction Company and finally Xerox for 25 years.

After retirement she worked on her chocolate bunnies for Easter and her famous Italian cookies as her hobby.

She is pre-deceased by husband James Giancaterin, Sr., son James Giancaterin, Jr and loving long-time companion Andrew Catalina, Sr.

She is survived by her children Frank (Angela) Giancaterin, Sandra (Tom) Meleca, Sr., Sharon (Mohan) Sikand,  Carol (Jim) DeYaeger and Suzanne Thompson (widow of James Giancaterin, Jr.)

She was a proud grandmother of and is survived by grandchildren

Margie (Ron) Delettera,  Susan (Dave) Maccarone,  Renee (Jeff) Stanley, Michelle Giancaterin, Catherine Meleca,  Tom (Niki) Meleca, Jr., Sant (Bree) Sikand, Gina (Dan) Le,  Jennifer (Simon) Shipkowski,  Stephanie (Jason) Barrett.

She is survived by 6 great grandchildren: Evan Stanley, Morgan Stanley,  Gabriella Maccarone and Charlotte Barrett of Rochester, NY and Alexander Le and Lincoln Le of Valencia, CA.

She is survived by multiple nieces and nephews as well as extended family in Houston, TX, Morristown, NJ, Granada Hills, CA, Toronto and Montreal Canada, Mumbai India and London England.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, Nov. 8 at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Nine Mile Point Rd., Webster, NY from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Service to be held on Nov. 9th, 11 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 553 Humboldt St., Rochester, NY. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY.
