When I moved in next-door about 11 years ago, I learned that Roger had been picking up the mail for the previous owners due to their poor health. Right from the start I knew this was a special man. He always asked how I was doing when we saw each other outside, always asked how my kids were doing and said hello to them when he saw them visiting in the driveway. When I mentioned one winter that I hated taking out my blue bin and bringing it back in because of the icy driveway, and I had fallen a couple of times, from then on when I would get home at the end of the day that blue bin would have been taken up to my garage door so that I didn’t have to walk it up. That was Roger. Every year at our annual homeowners meeting, Roger would bring another neighbor who used a wheelchair, so that the neighbor could attend. That was Roger. One of the nicest people I have met. Oh, and he and Donna made the most delicious orange scones, and Roger would drop off one or two for me many times! I will miss his smile and kindness. Just a good soul. My heartfelt sympathy to Donna and is family.

We had always had a great time when we were visiting with Dawn, and chatting with Roger and Donna. Not a lot of parents made their kids friends feel comfortable way back in high school, but we sure felt that way around the Laforce house!
you will be missed

As a neighborhood kid I remember Roger as being a kind big brother to his little sister Patty. Older brothers are very special to younger sisters. May your memories comfort you. ❤️ Mary (Bristol) Huggins

Thanks for all your patience with myself and algebra.
I never would have made without you. Always there in anytime of need or just to settle my nerves. I know Erik and Daniel enjoyed fishing lessons and woodworking projects. You will be greatly missed.
Love and miss you Radish

Roger has been one of my father’s closest friends. When I was little, he reminded me of Dick Van Dike from Mary Poppins. Always jolly and friendly.
In my early twenties, my mom was going through her cancer journey, Roger and Donna opened their home to my sister and I so that we didn’t have to commute so far to the hospital. Always compassionate and caring.
In my thirties, I received beautiful wooden bowls from Roger in celebration of my marriage. And both of my children have wooden bells to hang on our Christmas tree every year. Always thoughtful and generous.
In my forties, Roger and Donna dined regularly with my dad and Marilyn. And he golfed right up to the end with my dad. Always loyal and positive.
These are the beautiful ways Roger touched my life and I am thankful for these memories. My deepest sympathies, Amy Reiter

I miss you Radish. You were a fantastic, caring brother. I remember walking out on the Kitty Hawk with you and the look of pride on Grandpa’s face as he walked with you. I know you are looking down with mama and papa at all of us. Thanks for being my brother, I love you.

Such a great person to know. So friendly and such a gentleman, fun to chat with. We were lucky to have known him for these short few years as neighbors. Bob & Doris Shepard #41 CC.
