Obituary of Samuel P Licata

Licata, Samuel P. "Red" Webster: Feb. 9, 2013, age 92. Predeceased by his wife, Celestine "Sally"; devoted and loving father to Marie Elaina Licata and Angela Garritano. He is survived by beloved granddaughters, Christina Garritano and Alanna (Jason) Knupp; great-grandson, Liam Knupp; sister, Jennie Torcello; son-in-law, James Garritano; several nieces and nephews. Born May 3, 1920 in LeRoy, NY and drafted in the United States Army in 1942. He served 4 years in the 423rd Army Air Force as a Medical Technician, caring for the health and welfare of the patients. He also accompanied patients that were flown to various hospitals. After an honorable discharge of military service, Sam made his home in Rochester, where he married his sweetheart Sally. Sam found work at Bond Clothing Store where he worked in the factory operating a steampress until 1979. With his love of gardening he also worked as a landscaper for many prominent Rochesterians and was a loving and devoted husband to Sally for 63 years. He became a dedicated caregiver to her and to his ailing siblings. Calling hours THURSDAY 7-9 PM at the Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Rd. On FRIDAY family and friends are asks to go directly to St. Kateri at St. Margaret Mary Church (401 Rogers Parkway) for the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 10 AM.
