Obituary of Loyda Sarah Quiñones
Loyda Sarah Quiñones: Our beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend, age 61, of Rochester New York went to be with the Lord in Heaven on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, peacefully and surrounded by family.
Predeceased by her Parents, Basilio Antonio Quiñones and Luz Del Carmen Reinoso De Quiñones.
Survived by her loving sons, Nigel (Nolie) Uno, Joel Quiñones, Delaney Altidor, and Noel DeJesus; She has an unborn grandson due to join the family; brother Bruno Reinoso, brother Felix Rodriguez, sister Raquel Quiñones, brother Basilio Quiñones, sister Elizabeth Quiñones, sister Esther Quiñones, brother Joel Quiñones, and sister Hilcias Quiñones;as well as many nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.
Loyda was born on October 21st ,1959 in the Dominican Republic. She worked as an interpreter for many hospitals, local agencies, and her church, where she was a very devoted and active member. She recently became fluent and certified in the Italian language and was proud to add that to her resume. She absolutely loved and adored her grand-puppy, Leila. Loyda served in the US Army. She recently became ordained and had the honor of marrying her son on his wedding day. She also loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
She was a woman of great faith, humble in her origins, and always provided a wonderful life for her family. She will be lovingly remembered for her giving heart; always putting others needs before her own.
Family, friends, and others whose lives have been touched by Loyda are invited to her Celebration of Life on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Calling hours will be held 10:30-11:30 AM with a service to follow at 12 Noon: both at The Spanish Church of Nazarene (99 Stonewood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14616). Interment Riverside Cemetery.
