Obituary of Josie Centanni

Josie Centanni (Sortino)

Went to the arms of the Lord peacefully on April 17, 2021 at the age of 87. 

She is predeceased by parents Carmelo & Carmela Sortino, sister Connie Profeta, brothers-in-law Joseph Profeta, Joseph Centanni & Rosario Centanni and dear friends of 80 years, Louise & Russell Ricotta. Survived by her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Sam; her sons Joseph (Judy) Centanni & Samuel (Kate) Centanni; grandchildren Joanna (Jeff) Okolowicz, Tricia (Jae) Rene, Jackie (Gary) Dohse, Caitlin (Mike) Ferro, Sammy (Kaylin) Centanni, Nick (Elizabeth) Centanni & Michael Centanni; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Salvatrice Centanni & Rose Centanni; cousin Sal Tripi; several nieces, nephews, and lifelong family friend, Margie Ricotta and devoted Godchild Carol Pennica.

Josie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all. Mom was an amazing card player; she loved Euchre. Mom and Dad had many wonderful years in retirement traveling. She especially loved their trips to Italy. She was an active member of Annunciation Seniors and a retiree of GRS & Cobbles School. 

The family would like to thank the staff of Fairport Baptist Home for the wonderful and compassionate care she received.  No prior calling. Please join the family WED 11 am at Holy Spirit Church (1355 Hatch Road Webster) for the celebration of her Funeral Mass. Donations in Josie’s memory may be made to American Parkinson’s Disease Association. Entombment White Haven Memorial Park.
